Who we are

Markaly is an AI-powered marketing content tool built for Perth small businesses. We're based in Perth, Western Australia. When we say "we", "us", or "Markaly", we mean the operator of this service.

What information we collect

We only collect what we actually need to run the service:

• Business information you enter — your business name, type, and Perth suburb when you generate content. This is sent to the AI to create your content and is not stored on our servers.
• Email address — if you sign up for our mailing list or contact us. We use this to send you product updates and respond to your enquiries.
• Payment information — if you subscribe to a paid plan, payments are processed by Stripe. We never see or store your credit card details.
• Usage data — basic analytics like which pages are visited, how long people stay, and where visitors come from. This is collected in aggregate and not linked to individuals.

How we use your information

We use the information we collect to:

• Generate AI marketing content based on your business details
• Process your subscription payments via Stripe
• Send you product updates and announcements (only if you've opted in)
• Respond to your support enquiries
• Improve the product based on how it's being used

We do not sell your data to third parties. Ever.

Your business data and AI processing

When you enter your business name, type, and suburb into Markaly, this information is sent to Anthropic's Claude AI to generate your content. Anthropic has their own privacy policy governing how they handle API requests. You can read it at anthropic.com/privacy.

We do not store the content generated for your business beyond the current session. Once you close or refresh the page, the generated content is gone from our systems.

Cookies and tracking

We use minimal cookies to make the site work properly. We may use basic analytics tools to understand how visitors use the site. We do not use advertising cookies or tracking pixels.

Your API key (if you use the content generator directly) is stored locally in your browser using localStorage. It never leaves your device except to authenticate directly with Anthropic's API.

Third-party services we use

• Anthropic Claude API — powers the AI content generation
• Stripe — processes subscription payments securely
• Netlify — hosts our website
• Mailchimp — manages our email list (only for subscribers)

Each of these providers has their own privacy policy and we encourage you to read them.

Your rights under Australian Privacy Law

Under the Australian Privacy Act 1988, you have the right to:

• Access the personal information we hold about you
• Request corrections to your personal information
• Request that we delete your personal information
• Opt out of marketing communications at any time
• Make a complaint if you believe we've mishandled your information

Data security

We take reasonable steps to protect your information. Our site is served over HTTPS, payments are handled by Stripe (PCI-DSS compliant), and we don't store sensitive business or personal data beyond what's needed to run the service.

No system is 100% secure. If you have concerns about a specific piece of data, contact us and we'll help.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. If we make significant changes, we'll let subscribers know via email. The "last updated" date at the top of this page will always reflect the most recent version.
